Our founder, Mary Kay Ash, was a firm believer in the ‘Go-Give’ spirit, and throughout its 45-year history, the Company, our employees and our hundreds of thousands of independent sales force members worldwide have given their time and resources to countless causes. 

 

 

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Pink Changing Lives, Mary Kay Australia and New Zealand has a long history of philanthropic commitments at the local and national levels, including:

 
   

  Look Good…Feel Better Program
Mary Kay a proud supporter of Look Good…Feel Better, which provides a free community service program dedicated to teaching women cancer patients beauty techniques during cancer treatment. Through Look Good...Feel Better workshops, women learn how to cope with the appearance related side effects of cancer treatment.

Mary Kay’s support of the program includes product donations and funds raised from product campaigns, as well volunteering efforts by our Sales Directors. As a volunteer, our Sales Directors donate their time to teach women suffering with cancer hands-on-beauty techniques to help restore their appearance and image – and revive their self-confidence.

Mary Kay Australia and New Zealand are very excited to launch its new Beauty That Counts campaign in September 2008, where all profits from the sale of Mary Kay® Creme Lipstick in Apple Berry – one of the Company’s top-selling lipstick shades, with universal appeal among women of all skin tones – will be donated to Look Good…Feel Better.

From September 1 to December 31, 2008, Apple Berry lipstick will change a life! This Beauty That Counts campaign will not only raise funds for a much-worthy cause, but help those cancer suffers  to pucker up for a brighter day.

   

   
 

Australian and New Zealand Breast Cancer Trial Group (ANZ BCTG)
Mary Kay has supported ANZ BCTG through our Warm Fuzzies Campaign since 1991. All proceeds go towards breast cancer research programs to provide better outcomes for women who are/have been a victim of breast cancer.

The Australian New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group is Australia’s only national research body conducting clinical trials for the cure and prevention of breast cancer. For more than 28 years, the ANZ BCTG has provided an essential co-ordinated structure for the conduct of collaborative breast cancer clinical trials research in Australia and New Zealand. This research is saving women’s lives every day and has contributed to the 20% fall in deaths from breast cancer seen in the past 10 years.

Mary Kay’s Independent Sales Directors and Independent Beauty Consultants sell pink, fluffy Warm Fuzzies with antennae, big eyes and big feet for $1 with the profit of 65c from each sale donated to research. These little characters are perfect for decorating your computer, dashboard or windowsills. The Warm Fuzzy character represents the loving support of all women whose lives have been affected by breast cancer, directly or indirectly.

Bonnie Babes
Mary Kay also supports the Bonnie Babes Foundation, which provides support and grief counseling for families with premature babies or who have experienced a miscarriage/stillbirth.

Key initiatives include the selling of exclusives Christmas sets and products where proceeds were donated to the Bonnie Babes Foundation. Mary Kay has also been involved in several of the Bonnie Babes Foundation’s Campaigns in an attempt to create more awareness and raise funds for this worthy cause.         

The Bonnie Babes Foundation is a non government funded, non-profit, volunteer based charity which provides 24 hour, 7 day per week counselling for families that have experienced the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or prematurity;  medical equipment to hospitals for premature babies; vital medical research projects into pregnancy loss and complications after birth; and support for infertility issues, children born with abnormalities and childhood illnesses. The Foundation also provides education and training for health professionals. 

The money raised by Mary Kay contributes to purchasing new equipment, scholarships for young researchers, special research projects involving pregnant women, and most importantly, the provision of grief counselling services and grief support groups for families suffering this traumatic loss.
